My Story

My health and fitness journey has changed my life and through the process I have had a lot of people ask me for advice, tips, recipes, et cetera. This page was created to give you a glimpse of how I achieve this lifestyle and it will serve as a motivational tool and a source of ongoing encouragement. I hope to help and inspire as many people as possible! Most importantly, I want you to realize that a healthy lifestyle IS possible even with the most hectic schedule. My husband and I both work full time and spend a considerable amount of time in the gym but through hard work (team work) and prioritizing our tasks we are able to live a fit and healthy lifestyle! There are no excuses; it just takes some good old fashioned hard work!

I was never an overweight child or teenager; however, I never stepped foot into a gym until I was in my mid 20s. I married my high school sweetheart and both of us gained 20 lbs during our first year of marriage. We DID belong to a gym during this time we just never used the membership. I remember when I first started taking advantage of my membership I could only do about 10 minutes on the elliptical until I was completely exhausted and boredom set in and I lost my motivation to stick to a routine. Even though I lost my motivation, my husband continued to follow a strict routine and absorb as much fitness and nutrition information as he could. Instead of going with him, I did Jillian Michaels workout videos at home. It was around this time that I finally realized that counting points or counting calories may help you lose weight but it doesn’t help you actually become HEALTHY. After a couple years, I started to notice that my husband made a complete transformation and his transformation served as motivation for me to get in shape and start going back to the gym. I started reading the transformation stories on bodybuilding.com and coincidentally, this was around the same time that Jamie Eason released her 12-Week Trainer on bodybuilding.com - this was exactly what I needed! I didn’t want to do endless amounts of cardio…I wanted to be FIT! And that is exactly what happened during her trainer. I followed her workouts and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, her meal plan to a “T”.

Check out my handsome husband who you will probably hear me refer to as "Popeye"!

At my highest weight I was 167 lbs (fall of 2008). On February 14, 2011 I weighed 157 lbs. On February 14, 2012 I weighed 127 lbs.

Please check out my facebook page as it will be updated more frequently than this page.  I will post pictures of my meals, activities, helpful hints, and items of motivation and inspiration. My husband and I, along with another clean eating couple, manage heandsheeatclean.com (so check out that facebook page as well for more recipes and other nutritional information)!  I am open to any comments, questions, or ideas that you may have. We can learn from each other!

I started this blog because as I was doing Jamie's trainer the first time I wished that I had something to document how I felt during the time so I decided I WOULD have a blog to document my preparation for my first photo shoot!  Join me on my journey to prepare for my first photo shoot with the talented Satio Photography!
